Jack & Rose's Emotional Wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall
The most important thing in the world is family and love.
Two extremely special people became one on Saturday, what an absolute honour to capture Rose & Jack’s intimate wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall. We laughed, we cried and we watched as Rose put on her late mother’s wedding suit with pride. Whilst 30 guests are now allowed at weddings here in the U.K., there was one person missing. Her presence was felt in every minute of the day in more ways than one. It was so hard to narrow this down to just one minute, so here’s an extended trailer of their day - Rose & Jack, I love you guys. Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.
Rose wore her late mumma’s wedding suit on her wedding day - the same cream suit her mum married her dad in back in 1995 for her ‘something new’, she wore a matching fedora paired with her mum’s brooch for her ‘something blue’, and a vintage Chanel frame bag for her ‘something borrowed’. Lisa - Rose’ mum - would have been the life and soul of the party that day.
When asking Rose about why she chose to wear her mum’s wedding outfit, she said:
“In 1995 my mother Lisa Jane Mahoney married my dad Fredrick Walter Sheppard - a woman of great style. She wore a cream clean cut suit with beautiful embroidery detailing. Mum left this world 20 years later in 2015, leaving behind a family who’s love cannot be explained. She is at the heart of all we do.
Fast forward 25 years I, Rose-Marnie Sheppard married Jack Elliot Davies in the very same suit mum married dad in, it was my way of having her by my side on a day I couldn’t have imagined not having her with me to do my hair, or tell me how beautiful she thought I looked.
Instead of looking out and seeing her sat there, she had her arms wrapped around me in a metaphorical sense.”
What a tender way to include her precious mum on the day she married her soulmate Jack
